At the time of rental, the driver must present a valid national driver's license which has been held for at least 1 or 2 years (according to different car rental companies).
An International Driving Permit (IDP) must be presented by all residents from North America, Caribbean, Latin America, Australia, Asia, Africa and the Middle East.
The IDP translates the national license into various languages and is on its own, without the national license, not acceptable.
Most car rental companies require the driver to be at least 25 years old. However different car rental companies may have a different age requirement, some allow drivers of 18 to rent a car and the minimum age may also vary by car category. In addition, If you're under 21-25, you are likely to have to pay a young driver fee. If you're 71 or older, you may have to pay a senior driver fee.
